A coiled strip is detached from a wound coil assembly 10 containing a plurality of coiled strips 16 interconnected by intermittently spaced tabs 18 bridging the parting lines 15 between adjacent strips 16 by separator apparatus 20 in a manner which prevents distortion or marring of the adjacent strip material. The separated strip 16 is caused to be wound into a tighter coil (thereby facilitating subsequent handling thereof) by means of a cylindrical body 22 having a slot to engage the inner end of the coil 16'. The body 22 is turned by an arm 30 carrying a handle 32.

 1 The invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure and can be used in the blanking production of machine-building enterprises in the separation of rolls of sheet material into strips. The purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the process of separating coils of sheet material into tfa strips. FIG. 1 shows the device installed in a roll, the initial position, general view; in fig. 2 is a view A of FIG. 1. A roll 1 of sheet material, made with longitudinal slits 2, separated, with jumpers 3, is placed on a support (not shown) and in an opening 4 of the roll is inserted with a gap in the device for separating the strips 5 from the roll, by 1. A device for separating the strips 5 from the roll 1 comprises a cylindrical body 6 with a working body made in the form of a groove 7 on the 06 expanding body. The mechanism of body rotation can be made manually in a vvde lever 8 with a handle 9 or mechanical. The device for dividing the rolls into strips works as follows. The body 6 is inserted into the opening 4 of the roll 1 and the free end 10 intended to separate the strip 11 is placed into the groove 7. Thereafter, the body 6 is transmitted a rotational movement in the opposite direction to that in which it is wound lane 11, whereby the detachable lane 11 winds relatively tightly onto the surface of the body 6. Continuing rotation of the body 6 causes winding & each subsequent roll coil on the preceding turn of the coil. As the coils wind up, the gap between the case and the inner surface of the roll widens. By virtue of such a relative movement, a tensile-cutting force is created between the winding strip 11 and the rest of the roll, which is successively applied to each jumper 3 connecting the strip 11 to the adjacent strip 12 in the rest of the coil until the detachable strip 11 separates completely due to the successive destruction of all the jumpers 3, with which it is attached to the roll 1. During operation, the effect of friction is essentially eliminated, since the destruction of the jumpers 3 occurs when successive turns of the rolls They intersect the space formed by the gap between the body and the inner surface of the roll. After separation, the strip 11 is wound with a slightly smaller diameter relative to the remaining roll. It can then be separated from housing 6 and delivered by the appropriate vehicles to the application area. Although the proposed embodiment is designed to remove one strip from a roll, the number of interconnected stripes — which can be separated from the roll — depends only on the number of rolls of the strip whose inner ends can be attached to the device body. Consequently, when it is necessary to remove a plurality of strips, only a housing with a length sufficient to obtain a slot adapted to fasten the required number of strips selected for separation is required. Compared with the known method, the use of the proposed method allows to increase the efficiency of the process of dividing rolls of sheet material into strips.
